Engineering
A&H Engineering is headed by Enrico Ragoni (LENG) and is responsible for the development of products, the provision of data and the approvals.
This area also includes the production of functional models, prototypes and series models.
2006/42/EC relevant
The development and construction as well as the qualification of load lifting devices and slinging equipment for helicopters is subject to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and the state of the art (currently DGUV Information 214-911).
R (EU) 2016/425 relevant
A&H Engineering is the holder of various EU type examination certificates for EN 354 fasteners and an EN 1981 rescue triangle.
Part 21 relevant
A&H Engineering is the interface to the design organization AeroFEM (EASA Part 21 J DOA, EASA.21.J.644) and holder of the STC for Human External Cargo complex PCDS
ANNEX I relevant
The customer defines the requirements. These can also include MIL-SPEC, NATO-STANAG and other standards.
Many A&H products began with a sketch on a beer mat. For us there are no limits and thought barriers. Whatever is possible is implemented.
Regardless of the approval area, the product group and the planned application, A&H Engineering always develops according to the same quality and process criteria.
What also stays the same: we develop components and equipment for helicopters, drones and airplanes.
We differentiate between the following process steps:
- Construction of functional models, prototypes, series models
- Construction of test samples (test samples for preliminary tests, approval tests
- Development for changes (minor change, major change)
- Development of M-R-O measures
- Provision of production instructions, specifications, customer documentation (application and maintenance instructions, etc.)
A&H Engineering not only develops products, but goes one step further: we qualify or certify (see also the Definitions tab).
We qualify load lifting devices and slinging equipment for helicopters and drones by issuing an EC declaration of conformity at the manufacturer's own responsibility;
We qualify products that do not fall under MD 2006/42/EC by issuing a declaration of conformity under the responsibility of the manufacturer in accordance with Swiss law;
We qualify lifting and slinging equipment according to STANAG, MIL or other specifications (Annex I) by issuing a Certificate of Conformity (COC) at the manufacturer's own responsibility;
We certify PPE against falls for air rescue and personal safety (so-called simple PCDS) in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/425 with the notified bodies SUVA Cert (NB 1246) and NSBIV AG (NB 1247) and deliver with an EU type examination certificate and EC certificate. declaration of conformity;
We certify personal transport and rescue systems for helicopters (so-called complex PCDS) according to CS-27 or CS-29 under EASA Part 21 G (POA CH.21.G.0022) and deliver with EASA FORM 1 and COC.

The following components and equipment are excluded from the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. These parts must be qualified according to national criteria in each member state of the EU and the associated states (e.g. Switzerland):
- Load networks - A&H P / N LN_x
- Animal transport networks - A&H P / N GVN2 or KVN2
- Concrete bucket, without motor drive - A&H P / N BK_x
- Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container, FIBC (so-called Bigbag) - A&H P / N FIBC_x
- Storage and dumping areas
- Intermediate Bulk Container, IBC
- ISO container
- Pallets of any kind, with or without a frame
A&H Engineering qualifies the products marked with P/N according to Swiss law (SR 903.11 Product Safety Act or SR 930.111 Product Safety Ordinance).
Information on work equipment that is not subject to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC (sorry, available only in German language)
The Machinery Directive applies to load-carrying and lifting equipment until 19 January 2027
General Information about the development of products
The cosmos of rights, regulations, rules and norms is complex. A&H Engineering tries to present a few aspects as simply as possible - always knowing that it is not easy.

The STC 10085893 for the P/N: HEC_5_H125 is here!
A big thank you to Joerg Spichtig (AeroFEM, EASA.21.DO.644), the flight test engineer Oliver Bachmann, Silvio Pini and Jonas Maurer (REGA, flight test program) for the professional handling of the order.
A new generation of lines will ...
2023-06-16 A new generation of linen is developing step by step. After a phase of familiarization with the braiding machines and various trials with the design of the cover, the first line with the new look went to the first customer Central Helicopter in Buttwil on June 16, 2023.
Further colors and designs are constantly being defined.
What is important about this development: apart from the braided Dyneema core, everything is developed and manufactured in-house at A&H.
Integration of HBT-922X into SWAF's EC635
2022-07-07 Due to the new requirement for a shorter hanger, the HBT-922X was switched to with the EU-BMB E 7111/1. The final adjustments are in progress.
Tape slings and tapes EN 354:2010 MIL
2022-07-07 The tape slings and tapes of the PSA series EN 354:2010 lanyards from A&H Equipment have been supplemented by a variant. A fully equipped Special Operations Forces (SEK) can weigh 150 kg and more. High-power, military-spec bands are used. This ensures compliance with EASA CM-CS-005 and CS-27./29.865(c)(2) even with high loads (safety factor 14 [-] for textiles).
The following laws, regulations and/or direcrtives apply to the development, certification, manufacture and market placement of A&H Equipment's products.
The description refers to products manufactured by A&H Equipment.
